TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA)Tampa police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead and two others injured.

Police say it happened Sunday evening just after five at Al Barnes Park, located at 2902 N. 32nd Street.

Police say it all started as several families were enjoying the day when a small group of individuals (not related) began to argue. Police say the argument got physical, one of the individuals took out a gun and began firing it at the group he was in conflict with, and a second person took out a firearm and he too began to fire.

As a result, police say two were pronounced deceased, one a 22-year-old man, the other a 17-year-old boy, and two were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say this was not a random act and are following up on several leads.
