Cat rescued from Tampa strip mall fire

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - HillsboroughCounty firefighters rescued a cat from a strip mall fire overnight.

Crews said it happened along the 12000 block of Nebraska Avenue in Tampa.

Firefighters said heavy smoke and flames were coming from through the roof at C and E Thrift Store.

A cat was rescued from Dan's Sports and in addition given oxygen, firefighters said.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.

Nebraska Avenue is closed in both directions from 120th to 123rd.
