TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - There is some better news at the pump now that Labor Day is in the rear view mirror.
Mark Jenkins of AAA in Tampa says gas prices have dropped a few cents from last week.
“Gas prices have been pretty steady in the past week. They picked up just a little bit because demand for gasoline increased before people hit the roads for the Labor Day weekend. We expect gas prices to start falling back down,” Jenkins said.
Right now, the average price of a gallon in the Bay area is $3.28, which is nine cents lower than it was this time last week. The statewide average is $3.37 a gallon.
Jenkins believes gas prices could fall below $3 a gallon by the end of the year.
