TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - The city of Tampa will have to reimburse FEMA more than a half-million dollars for clean-up funding from hurricane Frances in 2004.

FEMA and the state provided the city funding for debris removal and to fix torn-up roads.

The city's CFO Sonya Little tells council members the city fought the reimbursement.

Council members approved the measure after Little told them that ignoring the reimbursement may mean a denial of federal funding the next time a natural disaster impacts the city.
