Insurance Firm Wants To Hire Tampa's Laid Off Tourism Workers

TAMPA --One estimate says more than 150,000 Floridians in the hospitality industry are losing their jobs. An insurance company is targeting those workers... and others... with a virtual job fair Thursday. Steve Stout runs the Tampa office of Tranzact. He says they'll help new hires get required licensing for free, with an in-house training course.

The job fair targets laid-off workers in five counties around Tampa. Tranzact is looking to hire 240 people, at base salary plus commission. The company sells Medicare-related and life insurance policies, and it's gearing up for the fall open enrollment season.
