TAMPA -- A major project to improve I-275 around Tampa's Westshore business district has been completed and accepted by the Florida Department of Transportation.
The project added lanes to eliminate merging traffic around the State Road 60 (Clearwater) interchange, as well as improving the exit ramp from northbound I-275 to Kennedy Boulevard, as well as the merge from eastbound 60 onto northbound I-275.
The project began in 2019. Lighter traffic during the April COVID lockdown helped move the project forward. FDOT says the project was priced at $31 million and completed within contract time and budget.
