Two Arrests Made In Hit-And-Run At 'No Kings' Protest

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident during a 'No Kings' protest in Riverside, California. The incident occurred on Saturday (June 14) at around 9:10 p.m. on University Avenue, where a black SUV drove into a crowd of demonstrators, seriously injuring a young woman.

The victim, identified as 21-year-old Alexa Carrasco, remains in critical but stable condition with severe injuries, including a cracked rib, punctured lung, and broken leg. The Riverside Police Department, utilizing social media footage and community tips, identified the driver as 58-year-old Russell Prentice. Prentice was arrested on Monday and is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and hit-and-run causing injury, as reported by KTLA.

Additionally, 39-year-old Candase Wenzel was arrested for allegedly assisting in moving the vehicle and attempting to destroy evidence. She faces charges of accessory after the fact and destruction of evidence. Riverside Police Chief Larry Gonzalez praised the collaborative efforts of the officers and detectives involved in the investigation.
